About Melissa Aronczyk…
I am an Assistant Professor in the School of Communication and Information at Rutgers University.
I write and teach about issues related to media, identity, and public life.
I have two books out: Branding the Nation: The Global Business of National Identity, available from Amazon or via Oxford University Press; and Blowing Up the Brand: Critical Perspectives on Promotional Culture, an edited book with Devon Powers, available from Amazon.
I’m also a Faculty Fellow with the Center for Cultural Sociology at Yale University.
I have a Ph.D. from the Department of Media, Culture and Communication at New York University.
Right now I’m working on three projects:
1. A book manuscript on reputation, evaluation and the morality of contemporary media.
2. A research project that examines relationships between political communication and public relations.
3. Another research project on media and political advocacy around climate change.
